Africa’s most ambitious and revolutionary construction project.

Petronia City is the vision of CEO and Founder of Wonda World Estates, Nana Kwame Bediako. Designed around the ideology of ‘work, live, learn and play’, Petronia City is a self-sustaining, master-planned, integrated city. It will attract, retain and support businesses, human capital needs and elevate Ghana’s Western Region into a world-class business location, tourist destination and home.

The city’s 2000-acre development will include residential, office, industrial, commercial, leisure and hospitality space. It will be the first at the heart of the Western Region of Ghana – home to the country’s rapidly growing oil, gas and mining industries.

This incredible project began in October 2013 and will be realised in three key phases over the next 10 years.

Petronia City aims to bridge the infrastructure gap by building a city that creates value, sustainability and complements and sustains the lifestyle of investors, developers, businesses and people working within Africa.

The project will establish new standards for development in Africa.

Phase 1 – Building the foundation to the future

The first phase is to create a foundation to build upon. As a fully functioning 70-acre ‘prototype’, the city will be self-sufficient, comprising residential, commercial, retail and recreational facilities that will accommodate 300 residents.

Phase 2 – The birth of the Energy City

Construction for Phase 2 will commence halfway through the construction of Phase 1, beginning with the development of the ‘Energy City’.

Energy City will be the main business district and nerve center of Petronia. It will create a community of industry leaders in oil, gas, mining, financial and government sectors.

Phase 3 – Building on success

This final phase will expand on the city’s success and build on residential, commercial and recreational facilities, civic institutions and landscaping.

Highlights of this additional development will include civic developments, mixed income housing, a light & heavy industrial zone, an Auto Racing Circuit and Polo Grounds.

A timeline to Petronia City.

Petronia City broke ground in October 2013 with the clearing of the main roads, access roads and the site where Phase 1 will be situated.

The location is fundamental to the success of the Petronia City.

The entire Petronia City site covers an area of approximately 800 hectares and is located in Yaabiw. The city is approximately 8km from Takoradi and its seaport in the Ahanta West District Assembly in the Western Region of Ghana. It is 260km to the west of Accra and approximately 280km from the border with the Ivory Coast – making the city highly accessible and in close proximity to key source markets.
